The landscape architectural design at the Canaves Oia Hotel was undertaken by Greenways (Charles Hanikian). Extensive type DIADEM-150, with the diadrain-25H drainage, was selected for the construction of the green roof infrastructure. The special design of the Diadrain-25H allows the maximum amount of water to be retained and gradually absorbed by the plants, while also allowing the root system to properly ventilate, and as such is the best suit for the dry-weather conditions of the Mediterranean climate during the summer months. DIADEM planted roof infrastructure systems are certified by EOTA European Technical Assessment in accordance with ETA approval 17/1015.
